Meet the Author: Taryn!
Taryn is a freshman at Stanford University and recently graduated from Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts. She was the head of the Classics Club, c0-led and taught an Aequora program at the local middle school Bement, and

founded Calliope, Deerfield's Classics and literary journal as the editor-in-chief. Taryn is also the vice president and director of the Northeast region for the National Student Classics Society. She has studied many ancient languages including Latin, Greek, Sanskrit, and Pali. When not at school, Taryn lives in Richland, Washington where Classics is hard to find both in public and private schools in the area. She is passionate about expanding the reach of Classics and promoting Latin literacy by providing opportunities for students who cannot access a Classical education through their school programs. She has created three Latin programs which introduce young students to the great use and power of Classics while also being mindful to highlight the problematic nature and societal issues that stem from teaching Latin through certain views. Through teaching in her hometown and expanding the reach of Latin, Taryn hopes to change the idea that Latin is inaccessible and elitist.

Taryn created Launching Love for Latin to function as a corner to find advertising for Latin workshops, bundles of Latin resources and exercises, and a blog that highlights Taryn's passion for supporting, teaching, and learning the field of Classics.
